How Repair Drone works in Boss Lab

Learn what Repair Drone heals, what Field Medic improves, and how to use or counter a module-repair build.

By Boss Lab XYZ inc.

Repair Drone restores the most damaged living attachment. It cannot heal core health or revive destroyed parts. Field Medic increases its repairs by 50% when paired with Shield or Armor.

Repair is attachment sustain

The original Repair Drone spends 18 energy every eligible three seconds to restore up to 55 attachment HP. It chooses a damaged living module, so a part destroyed before the repair tick cannot be brought back.

Core health is a separate target and is not healed by this Drone. If you watch the core bar expecting it to rise, you can miss useful repairs happening elsewhere. Look at the damaged weapon, defense or movement module instead.

Build a machine that survives the repair cycle

Field Medic comes from Repair Drone with Shield or Armor and increases the repair amount by 50%. The combination helps most when valuable modules survive long enough to receive repeated repairs.

The Drone also adds weight, consumes energy and occupies the utility position. On a build already struggling to fire, the extra power demand can create a tradeoff. On a machine that loses an attachment in one burst, sustained repair may arrive too late.

Attack the limit when facing repair

Try to destroy the Drone or finish a vulnerable module before another cycle. Core pressure can also reduce the relevance of attachment healing because the Drone cannot refill core health. Choose a plan your owned weapons can execute rather than assuming all burst is sufficient.

There are no permanent module losses or post-fight repair charges from ordinary battle destruction. Decide whether to equip the Drone based on the current fight, not fear of losing a collectible. Watch a replay and compare the module survival you gained with the damage or control you gave up by using that utility slot.
