Ranked Arena removes attachment level boosts and uses base-level attachment values. It retains equipped mechanics, bodies, synergies and Brains. Normalized levels do not mean identical collections or guaranteed equal matchups.
What gets normalized
In Campaign, eligible attachment levels increase health and base damage. Ranked Arena normalizes those attachment boosts, so upgrading the same weapon does not bring its Campaign level advantage into the ranked fight.
Base part behavior still matters. Reach, wind-up, resource use, damage delivery and module effects remain part of the machine. A laser is still a beam and a cannon is still a projectile after normalization.
What remains a strategic choice
Your owned collection determines which mechanics you can equip. Synergy recipes, Brain rules, body turning and mobility choices remain relevant. Normalization does not provide every player every part or turn two different builds into the same robot.
This makes matchup knowledge useful. If a loss comes from repeated projectile reflection, an alternative damage path can help. Spending Scrap to raise that same projectile weapon’s Campaign level does not remove the Arena interaction.
Use Arena as a separate build test
Compare how a familiar build performs when attachment health and damage boosts are removed. Watch what breaks first and whether your resource or positioning assumptions still hold. You may need a different support choice than the one that carries your Campaign run.
Build decisions should follow observed results rather than a promise that a rarity tier automatically wins. Keep upgrades for their real progression value, and use counter-building, control timing and behavior adjustments when the ranked problem is mechanical.
